There is no intention for PRISONOFFICER.ORG.UK to become an official, recognised or approved website.

We are content to be unofficial and seek no endorsement or rating from anybody.

Having said that - we do expect to enable communication of a very high quality and standard.

The Registration Agreement Terms on our forums clearly define the behaviour expected of site users and these will be enforced without hesitation.

PRISONOFFICER.ORG.UK offers the following facilities

  1. allows members of the public to post questions to prison officers in an informal setting E.G. "Is it really like the TV SERIES PORRIDGE?" "Do prisoners really have to go 2 to a cell?" "What if they don't get on?"
  2. allows members of the public who aspire to join the PRISON SERVICE to share their queries or worries with serving prison officers
  3. allows serving prison officers the chance to post information on new issues to others who may not be aware or who may need a reminder
  4. allows serving prison officers a chance to relax informally with other members who have a generally postive attitude to the job being done in the Prison Service e.g. in the JOKES SECTION
  5. allows previously serving prison officers to express their opinions on HMP subjects and perhaps even keep in contact with HMP staff they knew
  6. allows a professional knowledge base to be built up for the use of candidates applying for HMP positions
