Thought it may help some of us newcomers if we 'meet' up with others starting/working at the same place??!

I have applied to HMP The Mount/HMP Woodhill or HMP Bedford. Hoping for first choice!

Sweet,
Good idea in theory,Just remember that this site is in the public domain and you should be very cautious when meeting people in the flesh.
Good luck with the aplication and I hope you get the placement you want. Please be careful.

I'd be interested to see if anyone else has applied or is working at any of the prisons I've put in for.

Personally I would not be too quick in divulging what prison you are going to and when your stating training in a public domain, it would not be that hard to work out who you are in a training class, and depending on your threads opinions and answers it could be embarrassing especially if you have divulged something on here which you have learnt from college and is not in the public doman.Trust me ,the service will have you Exclamation

Hi, newbie here, only my second post. I have put in for a couple of prisons in Surrey, had a follow up medical recently and am now just waiting for the relevant clearance to come through. If all goes well (no reason why it shouldn't - I hope Very Happy ) then it's just a matter of waiting for a start date - needless to say I have everything crossed.
